Tetris and Bejeweled are two games that have set high standards for all block-falling games. Yosumin! LIVE was released as an attempt to match up to the levels of these rulers, and has been successful to quite a good extent. The game play is simple, and the rules of the game are easily understandable. With entertainment packed to the core, Yosumin brings to us a 9 x 9 board, which is filled with a variety of beautiful coloured shapes. The player’s main aim is to create a box around the square, with all its four corners being of the same colour.
The game is pretty challenging, however the Endless Yosumin mode has the boards changing randomly, because of which it becomes quite non-competitive. At times, the levels can be crossed very easily, as finding the same coloured pieces does not take long.
There is also Battle Yosumin, which can be used to challenge friends online, or local. This adds to the fun as the game turns into a pattern recognition race and each player attempts to win by building his/ her meter, while the opponents’ meters fall down. All the eight characters have a different ability, which then helps in adding variety to the pattern recognitions.
Though fun and captivating, this game is still a step behind Bejeweled. There are times when you will feel disappointed with this game, especially when playing against the computer. Otherwise, it does give quite a lot of satisfaction, and good worth for your money.
